This accredited program has a very simple goal: to help people become stronger witnesses — and, if they choose, pastoral ministers — for the Diocese of Dodge City.

Classes are taught simultaneously at nine sites throughout the diocese via the interactive television (ITV) system. Instructors teach from one site where they can listen and respond to students’ questions from other sites. Classes can be taken for personal enrichment, for a diocesan certificate, or for college credit.

The recent Called & Gifted weekend introduced people to what their charisms -- or gifts of the Holy Spirit designed to benefit others -- may be, and through personal one-on-one interviews that followed, they looked at how they might put their charisms to use.

According to Msgr. Moore, the program can act as a catalyst for those examining their charisms.

"The point of the program is to help Catholics become more aware of the riches of their faith, and to be able to serve better tin their parishes," Msgr. Moore said.

"It connects into the Called and Gifted Program because the Pastoral Ministry Formation Program helps one develops gifts."

Msgr. Moore is the Director of the Pastoral Ministry Program, Director of Clergy Continuing Education, Director of Seminarians, Diocesan Liturgist, and parochial vicar at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Dodge City.
