Father Jim Dieker, pastor of Mary, Queen of Peace Parish in Ulysses, will lead a spiritual journey to the Holy Land Oct. 16-25.

Areas included in the tour will be, among others: Tel Aviv, Jaffa, Caesarea, Mt. Carmel, Nazareth, Cana, Bethsaida, Galilee, Jerusalem, Gethsemany, Bethlehem, and Jerusalem. The journey will also include a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Daily Eucharist will be offered pending the availability of Mass sites.

Among the highlights of the trip will be a visit to the "Mt. of Beatitudes," where Christ preached the Sermon on the Mount. Participants will visit the well where the Angel Gabriel told Mary she would give birth to Jesus.

While visiting Cana, the site of Jesus’ first miracle, couples will have the chance to renew their wedding vows.

Participants will also visit many of the sites where Jesus performed miracles, including the village of Bethsaida, where Jesus performed a number of miracles, including restoring the sight of a blind man, feeding the multitudes and walking on water.

In Bethlehem, participants will visit one of the oldest churches in Christianity -- the Church of the Nativity, said to be built over the birthplace of Jesus.

On day nine, participants will, according to the tour brochure, "walk in the footsteps of Our Lord Jesus on the Via Dolorosa to Calvary, the number one shrine of the Christian world. We will walk the path of Jesus and visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre." The church is said to be built on the hill where Christ as crucified.

The cost -- $2,165, plus air tax and travel insurance -- includes round-trip air fare from Wichita, four-star hotel accommodations, daily breakfast and dinner, all sightseeing entrance fees per itinerary, private deluxe motor coach and a professional tourguide. Single accommodation is an additional $250.
