Diaconate
The order of deacon flows from the charism of the person and from the call of church. The deacon, empowered by the Holy Spirit, is a special sign and instrument calling forth a fullness of service by all the baptized. Through his life in solidarity with the poor and oppressed the deacon reaches out and brings people, physically and spiritually, to the altar of Eucharist to encounter the full message of the Gospel. Moved by his love for those in need, he leads the Church in interceding for them. From the Eucharist, the deacon sends forth the baptized into the world to love and serve the Lord.
