From Sr. Janice Grochowsky, CSJ, JCL, Chancellor:

Safe Environment:
The deadline to submit to me the Principal Report Form and DRE Report Form is MAY 3.  This sheet provides me with the number of students in each grade, and an attestation from the principal/DRE and pastor that the safe environment lessons were (or were not) taught this past school year.  Providing safety lessons to all students in our schools and PSR programs is required annually.

We are aware of a number of adults who have been assisting in our parish programs with youth this past year who are still in need of attending a Protecting God’s Children Awareness Session.  If you wish to schedule a PGC session, contact Father Bob Schremmer, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. , 620-227-1555 [office], or 620-227-3363 [parish].  A number of people are also lacking a background check. Access a background consent form by going to our diocesan website (http://www.dcdiocese.org/safe-environment).

Chancellor:
A handy sheet providing information pertaining to which expenses are the responsibility of the parish and which expenses are the responsibility of the individual priest has been posted to the Pastoral Handbook under Clergy Information.

Priesthood Ordination of Deacon Don Bedore ~ May 28th
Everyone in the diocese - adults, youth, and children - is encouraged to attend the Priesthood Ordination Mass of Deacon Don Bedore, 11 a.m., on Saturday, May 28 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City. Let’s celebrate the gift of the priesthood and fill the Cathedral!

The 48th World Day of Prayer for Vocations, to be celebrated on May 15th, the fourth Sunday of Easter invites us to reflect on the theme, “Proposing Vocations in the Local Church.“  It is a challenging and uplifting invitation that Jesus addresses to those to whom he says: ‘Follow me!’ He invites them to become his friends, to listen attentively to his word and to live with him. He teaches them complete commitment to God.
