The Institute for Faith & Life completed the second
part of its four part series on Hispanic Youth Pastoral Ministry March
27-28, at St. Alphonsus in Satanta.
Approximately 35 young people and adults from different
parts of the diocese participated in the course, which was presented by
Rafael Visoso of Denver.
This section of the basic course in Hispanic youth
pastoral ministry dealt with the "sacramental life," "Christian
spirituality" and the "psychological development of the human person." The
participants are guided through a particular theme and then asked to
concretize it using the pastoral circle of "see," "judge" and "act."
The goal of the Institute’s basic course is to teach a
method of group dynamic, which can be applied to youth pastoral ministry
throughout the diocese. The participants, in working through a particular
theme, are preparing themselves to work among youth making use of the same
method.
The basic course will continue April 17-18 on the topic
of "mission and principles and techniques in Hispanic youth pastoral
ministry." The last in the series will take place May 15-16 and will
address the issues of pastoral planning. The series will conclude with a
retreat. All of the classes are at St. Alphonsus, Satanta.
