Approximately 60 people from
across the Diocese of Dodge City were baptized into the Catholic Church
during parish Easter Vigils April 7.
For the former catechumens
(people not yet baptized), the final part of the journey began with a
Rite of Election on or near the first Sunday of Lent.
The 60 catechumens and 130
candidates (candidates enter into full communion with the Church by
receiving confirmation and first Eucharist at the vigil) were officially
recognized by Bishop Ronald Gilmore and the people of the Diocese of
Dodge City at the Rite of Election Mass Feb. 25.
