The Faith and Light Community of the Diocese of Dodge City gathered March 16 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe for a Palm Sunday celebration.

Faith and Light is designed to give developmentally and intellectually disabled individuals, as well as their friends and family, a place to gather for fun, friendship, and faith, in a spiritual atmosphere.

Helping celebrate this most sacred time on the Christian calendar was Deacon Dwaine Lampe, chaplain for the group, who, with others, participated in a re-creation of the last supper (right).

The Cathedral Faith and Light group meets every third Sunday of the month. Organizers hope that groups will form in other parishes.

Volunteer "friends" are being sought who are committed to being at the meetings to be with a particular member who has no family or friends to attend with them.
