Norbert H. Riebel, 89, of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima, Great Bend, died March 5, 2008. He was a farmer and a production foreman for Alpine Oil in Ellinwood. He served in the U.S. Army as a medic during World War II. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He is survived by his wife, Twila Bisbee Grossardt; a son, Jim; a daughter, Carol Horton; two stepdaughters, Ivonne Burmeister and Darlene Plymell; six brothers, Paul, John, Victor, Wilbert, Melvin, and Leon; four sisters, Sister Florentia Riebel, Sister Leona Riebel, Sister Barbara Riebel, and Arlene Drake; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Anna Ruth Laudick, 84, of St. John the Evangelist Parish, Hoisington, died March 3, 2008. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Leslie Laudick; two sons, Robert Adams and Dale Adams; four daughters, Connie Weber, Julie Tubbs, Marla Breitenbach, and Denise Adams; two stepsons, Steven Laudick and Alan Laudick ; a stepdaughter, Lesley Neill; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. Gilbert J. Brungardt, 76, of St. Mary Parish, Garden City, died March 8, 2008. He worked for P.L. Dale, Garnand Furniture Store and St. Vincent DePaul Charity, Portland, Ore., until retiring. Survivors include four brothers, Robert, Thomas, Raymond Quint, and Richard Quint; and two sisters, Sister Bertilla Brungardt and Shirley Richmeier. Father Trong Tran presided.

Silverina H. Kreutzer, 88, of St. Michael Parish, LaCrosse, died March 10, 2008. She was a homemaker. On Dec. 2, 1943, she married Ignatius A. Kreutzer in Liebenthal. Survivors include a brother, Walter Herrman.

Roland J. Bahr, 84, of St. Ann Parish, Olmitz, died March 9, 2008. He was a retired farmer and a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. Survivors include three sons, David, Jerry, and Steve; two daughters, Barbara Deckert and Sharon Wissman; a brother, Eugene Bahr; two sisters, Teresa Jilg and Rose Marie Frieb; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Adrianna M. Dierolf, 89, of St. Joseph Parish, Ellinwood, died March 17, 2008. She was a homemaker. Survivors include cousins. Father Charles Mazouch presided.

Cecelia B. Komarek, 94, of St. Joseph Parish, Ellinwood, died March 16, 2008. Survivors include son, Kenneth G.; daughters, Kathleen Schwab Dolores Wich, Barbara Wolford and Carolyn Voll; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Clarence Kiesling “Kay” Schaffer, 71, of Sacred Heart Parish, Ness City, died March 13, 2008. On Aug. 1, 1963, he married Marie Alice Bourgeois. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Laverna Ochs; a twin brother, Clifford Jones Schaffer; four grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Dennis L. Dreiling, 66, of St. Dominic Parish, Garden City, died March 6, 2008. On Nov. 6, 1980, he married Connie J. Smith. She survives. Other survivors include children, Troy Lee Dreiling, Amanda Fawcett, Kris Smith, Kurt Smith, Kevin Smith, Kelley Hernandez, Kirk Smith, Alan Dreiling and Rhonda Scully; brother, Donald; sister, Jane Frazier; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Ignacio R. Franco Jr., 57, of St. Mary Parish, Garden City, died March 14, 2008. Survivors include son, Marcello Andres Franco; daughter, Elena Raquel Benadidez; brothers, John J., Miguel R. Ricardo Lopez and Daniel R.; sisters, Mary Franco Floyd, Dolores R. Franco-Peve and Grace Franco; step-brother, Juan Carlos Franco; step-sisters, Anna San Juan Franco, Maria Lusia San Juan Franco and Abigail San Juan Franco; and four grandchildren.

Mildred “Mickie” Glynn, 83, of St. John the Evangelist Parish, Hoisington, died March 12, 2008. She worked for J.C. Penney’s in Great Bend and Boise, Idaho. She belonged to the Altar Society. She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Glynn; a son, Hilton; a daughter, Sherie (Van Doren); a sister, LaDonna Denney; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Morris E. “Joe” Stukey, 83, of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick, Great Bend, died March 14, 2008. Survivors include his wife, Ramona Seyfert; two sons, Morris L. and Larry; daughter, Brenda Petersilie; sister, Wilma “Jean” Schenk; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Rosie M. Schmitt, 98, of St. Anthony Parish, Lakin, died March 14, 2008. Survivors include two sons, Carl Lee and Donald W.; daughter, Norma J. Martin; sister, Carolyn Costello; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Thresa Esfeld Fisher, 93, of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick, Great Bend, died March 16, 2008. She was a member of the Altar Society and Daughters of Isabella. Survivors include one son, Terry Esfeld; two daughters, Vicki Wood and Virgie Rabenstein; two stepdaughters, Carolyn Crowell and Mary Lou Murphy; one sister, Sister Mary Salesia, O.P.; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.  Father Reginald A. Maria Kennedy, 91, of St. Alphonsus Parish, Satanta, died Feb. 20, 2008. Survivors include two sons, Jerry and John Kennedy; three brothers, William, Harold and Glenn Haddican; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Father Jim Dieker presided.

Lloyd Clifford Shanline, 88, of Sacred Heart Parish, Pratt, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008. He was a farmer and an income tax accountant. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II having earned the rank of major. He was an Operations and Training Staff Officer at Hillfield, Utah; he received the American Campaign Medal and WWII Victory Medal. He is survived by his wife, Mary Kosse; a daughter, Christine Zongker; two sons, Stephen and Paul Shanline; a brother, Phillip Shanline; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Julia Elaine Alcala, 16, of Mary Queen of Peace Parish, Ulysses, died March 27, 2008. Survivors include her parents, Daniel Jr. and LeAnn Reese Alcala; two brothers, Derreck (Danielle), and Douglas; grandparents, Rufus and Marilyn Reese and Daniel Sr.. and Aurora Alcala; great-grandmother, Pilar Flores; aunts and uncles, Michael and Cathy Landin, Ray and Rita Gutierrez, Michael and Natasha Alcala, Donna Alcala, Mike and Sharon Martin, John and Diane Martin, Rick and Sally Reese, Sandy and Billy Lane, Bob and Jean Reese, Joan and Pete San Nicholas; and numerous cousins.

Victoria Rachelle Dowell, 16, of Mary Queen of Peace Parish, Ulysses, died March 27, 2008. Survivors include her parents, Randy and Denise Leiker Dowell; a sister, Resa Dowell; her grandparents, Larry and Marie Dowell and Calvin and Rita Hall, and her great-grandmother, Agnes Ohnmacht; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
