Right To Life of Kansas, Inc. to host upcoming events:

Convention coming to Wichita Oct. 1

Right To Life of Kansas, Inc. will host a convention Saturday, Oct. 1 at St. Francis of Assisi Clare Hall, 816 N. Socora, Wichita. Registration is at 8 a.m., and a banquet will be served at 7 p.m.

The deadline to register for lunch and banquet Sept. 24. Session tickets will be available at the door. Registration information is below.

Mark Crutcher, founder of Life Dynamics, Inc., has done ground-breaking research on the abortion industry and has conducted several undercover investigations that have exposed illegal activities at abortion clinics. The Pro-Life Handbook is Crutcher’s latest book, released in February. He is also the author of "Lime 5," an expose of legal abortion in America, and the pro-life strategy manual, "Access: The Key to Victory." He is currently the co-host of America’s only pro-life TV show, "Life Talk."

Father Joseph C. Howard, Jr. M.Div, has degrees in biology and theology and is pursuing graduate studies in moral theology at Catholic University in Washington, D.C. Father Howard has been involved with the American Bioethecis Advisory Commission (ABAC), since its creation. He will speak on "Establishing The Early Embryo as a Human Person."

Mary Turner has been involved in pro-life work since 1987. She has a B.S. in Biology from Clarke College of Dubuque, Iowa, and a Master’s in Theological Studies from Madonna University of Livonia, MI. She and her husband Bill, live on an organic dairy farm in LaCrosse, WI.Turner will speak on "The Evils of Contraception."

Brian Brown, serves as Deputy Attorney General, in charge of the Consumer Protection/Antitrust Division. He is a member of the legal team charged with challenging the state’s right to pay for abortion. Bryan is a former member of the legal staff of American Family Association. He and his wife Anne and three sons live in Topeka.

Elmer Feldkamp, president of Right To Life of Kansas, Inc., co-author of the "Human Life Resolution," has also lobbied in the state Capitol for some years, in defense of human life. He will speak on what happens in our own state. He and his wife, Audrey, have four grown children and live in Baileyville, KS.

The cost is $20 for banquet, lunch and sessions ($35 with spouse); $15 for banquet-only or sessions-only; and $15 for students to attend sessions and banquet. Tickets for sessions are available at the door, but lunch and banquet tickets must be purchased by Sept. 24.

Bus heading to the March for Life in Washington, D.C., Jan. 20-25

RIGHT TO LIFE OF KANSAS, INC. is organizing a Jan. 20-25 bus trip to the March For Life in Washington, D.C., which will take place Jan. 23.

The bus will leave at 5 a.m. Jan. 20 from Village Charters parking lot at 8620 W. 21st in Wichita; participants will be picked up in Salina at 6:30 a.m. at Bosselman’s Travel Service on 1-70; then at Topeka at 8 a.m. at Ramada Inn-Downtown, 420 E. 6th St., then will stop for breakfast at Hardee’s on the Turnpike. The final stop to pick up participants will be at Westico/Champlin Truck Stop, 1-70 & 18th St. in Kansas City at 9:30 a.m. Participants should be at their stop 30 minutes ahead of time.

From Kansas City, the bus will travel to Richmond, Va., where participants will spend the night.

On Saturday, Jan. 21, the bus will leave Richmond at 5 a.m. and arrive in Washington D.C. around 4 p.m., where participants will check in at the Hyatt. A pro-life Mass will be celebrated in the evening at the shrine of the Immaculate Conception for those who wish to attend.

On Sunday, Jan. 22, there will be a day for sightseeing – individually, or with the group on the bus. A pro-life Mass will be celebrated in the evening at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception for those who wish to attend.

On Monday, Jan. 23, participants plan to meet with Kansas congressmen and then will join the thousands from all across the United States for the 33rd March For Life, beginning at the Mall. In the evening is the annual Rose Dinner — the cost to attend is not included in the reservation fee.

On Tuesday, Jan. 24 the bus will be loaded and ready to leave Washington at 5 a.m. They will stay overnight in Effingham, Illinois at the Raintree Inn.

On Wednesday, Jan. 25, the bus will leave Effingham at 6 a.m. after a free continental breakfast, and arrive back in Topeka around noon.

The cost per person is: $415 for double occupancy, or if you request a bed for one in a room with two others; and $325 for four persons per room.

The cost includes round trip transportation aboard a Village Charters Motor Coach, five nights motel accommodations, and transportation for sightseeing in Washington.

Reservations must be made by Dec. 28 to be assured of a seat on the bus and a specified room. Cancelled reservations will be returned in full on or before Dec. 13. After Dec. 13, all will be refunded except $10 for a name-change fee that the hotel charges. Make reservations early.
