Christmas Day
by Agnes Hall
Dodge City
Shepherds were watching.
And herding their sheep.
Some were walking around,
And some were asleep.
The stars in the heavens,
Had made a great sight,
And the shepherds were
Frightened at such a bright light.
Then angels from heaven,
Sang all through the night,
And led the shepherds,
To this bright light.
For there in the hills,
Where the sky was so light,
Lay a Baby asleep,
On this holy night.
For a Child so tiny,
And so true, has come
To lead the world,
As this Child must do.
The kings came
Away from the far,
As they followed the light,
From that far away star.
Here as they knelt on their knees,
To worship and pray,
The world will always remember
This first Christmas Day.
