Bugners celebrate 50 years wed

A 50th Anniversary celebration honoring Eugene and Darlene (Davignon) Bugner was held April 22 in Great Bend. The couple was married on April 21, 1956, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Wichita.

A blessing was given at the 5:30 p.m. Mass at St. Patrick Church, with a dinner and dance reception following at the KofC Hall. The event was hosted by Gene and Darlene, along with their children and spouses: David and Cindy Niederee of Derby; Brad and Tammie Bugner, and Curt and Nita Bugner, all of Wichita; Mark and Julie Smith; and Jill Bugner of Great Bend. The Bugners have 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

"The 2006 Institute will focus on doing theological reflection from one’s deepest center. Insights from the Canadian Jesuit Bernard Lonergan on human consciousness will be explored. We will be challenged to enter into a compassionate response to the cries of today’s diverse cultures. Carla Mae Streeter is a Racine, Wisconsin Dominican serving on the faculty of Thomas Aquinas Institute of Theology of St. Louis University since 1986. Carla Mae has been active as a facilitator for Religious Congregations and has served her own congregation with revisions of its Constitution and through ongoing theological renewal."
