Zellners celebrate 60th anniversary

Joe and Florence Zellner of Marienthal celebrated their 60^th wedding anniversary with an open house Sunday Feb. 19 at Marienthal Grade School.

Florence Baker and Joseph Zellner were married on Feb. 19, 1946 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marienthal.

They have six children: Geraldine Ridder, Lenexa, Kan., Joe Jr., Leoti, Kan., Ben, Marienthal, Gary, Marienthal, Mary Lynxwiler, Wichita, and Flossie Kough, Scott City. They have nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Vocation Fair, Feb. 26, Great Bend

The Vocations Commission of the Great Bend Catholic Community will be hosting a "Celebrate Your Call at Mardi Gras" Vocation Fair, on Sunday, Feb. 26, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at St. Rose Auditorium, 1412 Baker, Great Bend. The day will provide information about the areas where people are actively sharing their gifts. The day will encourage many others to recognize the call that God has for them and will invite them to become involved in a number of ways throughout the communities.

Lenten Day of Prayer- Our Hide and Seek God

March 12 -- Begins at 9 a.m. with morning praise;

Eucharist at 9:30 a.m.

Homily by Sister Joel Christoph, OP;

Brunch is served at 11:30 a.m.

Conference presentation by Sister Jolene Geier, OP.

The day will conclude with Holy Hour with Rosary and evening prayer starting at 4:30 p.m.

"Have you experienced the nearness of God only to experience at other times the absence of God? During this Lenten day of prayer we will reflect on how to be in relationship with God when he appears to be hiding and when he seems to be seeking us with great intensity." Donation welcomed. Brunch is $4.
