The CATHOLIC DIOCESE of DODGE CITY
Serving the People of Southwest Kansas
Sacred Heart School, Larned
Students took part in many activities during Catholic Schools' Week, Jan. 25-31. Below, students were offered a small supply of items with which they could wrap an egg in hopes of keeping it from breaking when dropped from about 12 feet. Items included a piece of string, a small sheet of wax paper, a straw, plastic fork, about four feet of masking tape, and a small sheet of foil. Only the teachers successfully kept their egg from breaking, although it did suffer a small crack.
From left to right: Students smile for the camera; students put on their goofiest faces for the camera; children watch as an egg is dropped; one of several teams strategize how to protectively wrap their egg; "KERSPLAT" -- an egg is dropped as students look on; a team unwraps its dripping egg over a trash can; another team unwraps its egg.
