QUEST 2006 -
‘Dare To Live Out Loud!’ Feb.17-19Quest 2006, the annual retreat weekend sponsored by the Catholic Committee on Scouting, will be held Feb. 17-19 at Dodge City Community College. The retreat is open to all boy and girl scouts in southwest Kansas. The theme is "Dare to Live Out Loud."
The purpose of the retreat is to gather those scouts who are at least 11 years old in a fun and learning environment to provide them with the opportunity to earn various religious emblems and medals for Catholic Boy and Girl Scouts and Venturing Crews.
Throughout the three-day camp the Scouts will also participate in various sporting events, meet other scouts from across the diocese, hear awesome speakers and compete in the annual QUEST Survival Games.
The high point of the weekend will be the celebration of the Eucharist and awards ceremony on Sunday morning with the Most Reverend Ronald M. Gilmore, bishop of the Diocese of Dodge City.
Additional information and a registration form can be obtained through your local Boy or Girl Scout troop or your area council service centers or by contacting Dave Geist, scouting chairperson for the diocese, at (620) 225-0161. The deadline for the early bird registration is Feb. 11.
