their house was sucked up by the storm that took his toys and took his books.
He keeps asking her to call the fixer man to come so they can go home
again. No adult could say it better.
On Sunday, July 1, we did go home again
after a fashion. We celebrated the first Mass on the

who is the Catholic Church Extension Society helped us buy the modular unit
that will serve as the temporary church. They called us almost before the wind
died, and they followed through with dispatch.
We went home because of the fixer man
who is a veritable crowd of compassionate donors. The other dioceses of the
state, Catholic Charities USA, and the individual friends from around the State
and from around the country; they combined to place nearly $715,000 at our
disposal to help the victims of those widespread storms over those few days in
May.
We went home again because the fixer man
did come. It was not quite the way Jeffrey imagined it, but home it
surely was. That is why we are profoundly grateful to all the fixer men
and fixer women who made it possible.
