John Lee Gomez
, 20, of St. Mary Parish, Garden City, died May 21, 2006. Survivors include his wife, Jennifer (Rodgriguez); four sons, Josiah, Isiah, Joe Jesse, and Javan; his father, Amado Jaime; his mother, Raquel Gomez; a brother, Agapito; five sisters, Anna Gomez, Estela Felan, Josie Gomez, Maribel Gomez, and Norma Gomez; and his grandmother, Isabel Contreras. Connie Ann Kennedy, 71, of St. Patrick Parish, Great Bend, died May 24, 2006. She was a member of the Altar Society. Survivors include her mother, Pauline Kimpler Berscheidt; a son, Kurt; two brothers, Gordon Berscheidt and Paul Berscheidt; and two grandsons. Father Ted Stoecklein presided.
Peggy Jean Elder, 77, of Jetmore, died May 25, 2006. Survivors include two sons, Roy Schauvliege and Perry Schauvliege; two daughters, Kathy Schultz and Cherie Warren; a brother, Charles Speck; two sisters, Harriet Housman and Maxine Hamilton; 10 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Chet Erin Gisick, 29, of Holy Family Parish, Odin, died May 27, 2006. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth (Behnke); a son, Gavin; a daughter, Erika Gisick; his mother and stepfather, Colette Gisick Debes and Robert "Bob"; two brothers, Chad and Josh; a sister, Joy Gisick; grandmother, Pauline Kaiser; and numerous uncles and aunts. William A. Linsner, Jr., 73, of Holy Family Parish, Odin, died May 28, 2006. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2630. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his mother, Eleanor Linsner; and three sisters, Marilou Axman, Eleanor Witchey, and Gerri West. Father Pascal Klein presided.
Bruno Espinoza Chavez, 49, of St. Anthony Parish, Liberal, died May 29, 2006. Survivors include a son, Bruno Espinoza Jr.; two daughters, Dalhya Espinoza and Dominique Carmen; his mother, Maria L. Jacob Daren Francis Coons, infant, of St. John the Apostle Parish, St. John, died May 30, 2006. He was born May 30, 2006, in Great Bend, the son of Vasie Joe Coons and Heather Naomi McDowell. Patricia Delgado, 65, of St. Mary Parish, Garden City, died May 27, 2006. She is survived by her husband, Joe G. Delgado; a son, Michael Ray Johnson; a daughter, Christina Nevarez; two sisters, Katherine Aumiller and Maryann Morales; and five grandchildren. Father James E. Baker presided.
Charlie Moore, 66, of St. Rose Parish in Great Bend, died May 30, 2006. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Judy (Burgett); his mother, Elaine; his stepfather, Glenn Moore; two sons, Michael and Craig; a daughter, Shelley Hejny; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. Arthur L. "Artie" Gribben Jr., 60, of St. Anthony of Padua Parish, Leoti, died June 1, 2006. He is survived by his wife, Karen (DeWeese Jones); a son, Brian; two daughters, Bryn Gribben and Amber Miller; two stepsons, David Jones and Matthew Jones; a stepdaughter, Avis Sparacino; two sisters, Bonita Greenwood and Patricia Palen; two grandchildren; and 10 step-grandchildren. Gilbert C. Herrman, 81, of St. Joseph Parish, Liebenthal, died June 2, 2006. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2340, and had served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Irene E. (Schoenberger); two sons, Dennis J. and Robert A.; four daughters, Linda M. Rohleder, Carol A. Dinges, Janet S. Brungardt, and Sharon K. Voelz; a brother, Elmer; four sisters, Cleopha Leiker, Virginia Andrasek, Mary Leiker, and Dorothy Davenport; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Father Ultan Murphy presided.
Frances Mary Koett, 93, of St. Patrick Parish, Great Bend, died June 1, 2006. She belonged to the Altar Society and the Daughters of Isabella. Survivors include two sons, Larry and Ron; three daughters, Marilyn Hammerschmidt, Dolores McConnaughy, and Imelda Koett; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Juanita Powers, 82, of St. Andrew Parish, Wright, died June 1, 2006. She belonged to the Altar Society and the St. Jude Society.
