Crafters sought for Sacred Heart Fair
The Sacred Heart Cougar Craft Fair is looking for crafters and donators from all areas for an Arts & Crafts Fair at Dodge City Sacred Heart School April 24. People are sought who would like to donate items, time, or funding. For more information, contact Holly Naccarato at (620) 338-5763.
St. Mary’s, Hodgeman County to celebrate the centennial
The St. Mary’s community of Hodgeman County extends an invitation to its Centennial on Saturday, May 1. All former pastors, sisters, parishioners, friends and neighbors are welcome to spend an evening of prayer and reminiscing. A tent with video will be provided for any overflow crowd.
The event will start with a Mass at 4 p.m., celebrated by Bishop Ronald M. Gilmore. Following the Mass and visit to the cemetery, a light meal will be served.
St. Mary’s was established in 1904 by mostly Irish settlers who had petitioned Bishop John J. Hennessy for their own church. It was always a mission parish with 20 to 25 families. There were 24 families listed when the church was closed in 1997.

Sacred Heart Cathedral School to host alumni reunion
All alumni, friends, family, staff, faculty and students of Sacred Heart Cathedral School in Dodge City are invited to attend the alumni gathering April 16-18. Father Wessels has been a parish priest, a professor of theology and past president of Aquinas Institute. Currently he is engaged in a free-lance ministry of preaching retreats, parish renewals and teaching adult education in parishes. He is the author of two books entitled: The Holy Web: Church and the New Universe Story and Jesus in the New Universe Story.
