Rabbi Michael Davis of Temple Emanu-El in Wichita stands in the fellowship hall of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe March 11 and blows into a large horn, or shofar, a ritualistic instrument that has remained unchanged for thousands of years. For the nearly 130 people gathered at the cathedral, the deep, haunting sound kicked off "Swords into Plowshares: The Call to Peace and Justice in the Hebrew Scriptures," a day-long interfaith dialogue.
