‘Encounter With God’s Call’

“Encounter With God’s Call,” March 24-26 at Conception Seminary College, is a discernment retreat for young men age 16 and older who are considering the vocation to the priesthood. This is an opportunity for young men to meet the seminarians as they share their stories of responding to God’s call. This visit is free. SpiritLife: A Spiritual Formation

Process, March 17, Great Bend

On March 17 from 8:30 a.m. - 3:15 p.m., the SpiritLife Spiritual Formation Process will be held at Heartland Center for Spirituality. Participants may join any of the sessions and are not committed to the whole day. Pre-registration required.

The topics and instructors for the day include:

9:30 a.m.: Spiritual Practice – Philip St. Romain

“There is an active aspect to the Christian life which entails spiritual practice. We have reviewed many of these practices in the ‘Inner Explorations’ course, but here we look at them in terms of the operations of our human consciousness, and how, through the practice of spiritual living skills, we come to live a life of love.”

10:55 a.m.: Toward a Spirituality for Global Justice: A Call to Kinship - Sister Jolene Geier OP

“By exploring the riches of the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures, we will broaden our sense of justice to include kinship with all members of the community of life on planet earth and for living a life of commitment and compassion.”

1:00 p.m.: Spiritual Formation Group – a time to process what’s been happening in classes; sharing one’s journey; inquiry and feedback.

2:15 p.m.: Meyers-Briggs in the Process of Growth and Development - Phil St. Romain

“We will introduce some of the key themes of the Meyers-Briggs approach to assessing personality types in this class.”

Lenten Weekend Retreat

“Let Go, Let God,” living the 12 step spirituality

When: March 30-April 1: Friday 7 p.m. -- Sunday noon

Instructor: Sister Renee Dreiling OP

Cost: $125

This is a “12-Step retreat.” Those who wish to can work on a particular step, or use a spiritual care inventory that can be used for prayer and reflection. Sister Renee will conduct short prayer rituals and will be available to work individually with those who might want to talk about a specific step.
