Hoisington youth offer seniors a special Valentine’s Day gift
Kyra Horesky, Audra Jonas and Paige Cooper visit with Darlene Adams and Susie Redetzke at Hoisington Homestead.
Jackie Koester and Cassandra Ney play checkers with two residents. The junior and senior CYO class from St. John the Evangelist Parish in Hoisington visited Hoisington Homestead, an assisted living center, Feb. 15 to celebrate Valentine’s Day with the residents. Together, they visited, enjoyed games, and had refreshments. According to catechist Loretta Kinman, "I believe the youth got as much out of the evening as the residents did. We were very proud of them as they interacted wonderfully with the residents. A few students even asked if they could go back and visit." According to Kinman, the director of Homestead commented that she had "never before had such wonderful comments on an activity there. The residents were thrilled and really enjoyed the evening." Catechist Jan Morgen-stern also attended the event.
