El cuatro y cinco de marzo la diócesis
celebró la bendición que es la presencia Hispana en el suroeste de Kansas con dos conciertos de Martín Valverde. Había mucho entusiasmo en los dos eventos en Dodge City y Garden City. Al fin del concerto para los jóvenes todos aplaudieron y gritaron "Otra, otra." Martín respondió diciendo, "Por el postre..." y canto dos más cantos. Realmente los conciertos fue el postre. La fe, la energia, la esperanza de la gente de todas las comunidades era la cena de esta celebración.

Los jóvenes de Dodge City, Garden City y Liberal prepararon temas por el día del joven. Muchos de las comunidades sacrificaron y trabajaron mucho para hacer el evento en Dodge y Garden. Grupos fueron organizados de comunidades de Ulysses, Hugoton, Satanta, Scott City y más para participar en los dos eventos. Muchos hicieron tanta preparación de comida, sistema de sonido, propaganda, y la limpieza.

Estamos tan felices que pudimos realizar un concierto con un músico como Martín Valverde para motivarnos a reunir para celebrar el amor de matrimonio y familia y la vida de la juventud. El éxito del evento muestra la vida de fe en nuestra comunidad.

El viernes, 4 de marzo entre 1,100 asistieron el concierto para el amor en Dodge City. Y el sábado más de 600 jóvenes participaron en el encuentro juvenil en Garden City. Invitamos a todos continuar activos en las parroquias, los programas de Comunidades de Aprendizaje, los movimientos en la comunidad.

Gracias a todos que ayudaron en qualquier manera en los conciertos, cocinando, preparando, cuidadando a los niños, invitando personas a los conciertos, vendiendo boletos, limpiando, cantando, presentando temas y los que olvidé. Es grande celebrar el amor de Dios.

On March 4 and 5, the Diocese of Dodge City celebrated the blessing of the Hispanic presence in southwest Kansas with two concert performances by Martín Valverde.

The first concert took place at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Dodge City and was for married couples, couples preparing for marriage, and couples considering marriage. The cathedral was filled to capacity as more than 1,000 people enjoyed Valverde’s music. The second concert was part of a special Day for Youth in Garden City, in which the youth enjoyed other musical performances, skits, and friendship. More than 400 youth attended the day’s events, while 800 youth and adults were expected to attend the Sunday night concert. Youth came from as far away as Kansas City to attend.

"The concerts were really the dessert," said Father Mike McAndrew, C.Ss.R., who was the driving force behind the events. "The faith, energy, and the hope of the people of all the communities was the supper of this celebration. The young people of Dodge City, Garden City and Liberal prepared subjects for the day.

"Many of the communities sacrificed and worked hard to make the events a success in Dodge City and Garden City."

He said that groups from communities such as Ulysses, Hugoton, Satanta and Scott City helped with the preparation of food, working out the sound system, and cleaning up afterwards.

"We are so happy that we could have a concert with a musician like Martín Valverde, to motivate people to take part in the celebration of the love of marriage and family, and the life of youth," Father McAndrew said. "The success of the event shows the life of faith in our community.

"Thanks to all who helped in every way with the concerts."
