Unlocking the Da Vinci Code

April 21

"Was Jesus really married to Mary Magdalene? Did the early Church authorities suppress the real truth about Jesus? Is the New Testament a reliable guide to early Christian beliefs and practices? These and many other questions are raised by Dan Brown in his best selling novel, ‘The Da Vinci Code.’ Although presented as a work of fiction, Brown strongly suggests that his story is based on events that imply a fraudulent nature to Christianity. This lecture will examine some of Brown’s points and offer responses."

Ordinary Miracles: An Invitation to Wonder

May 5

"This Powerpoint slideshow will focus on aspects of creation and everyday life that invite us to appreciate how extra-ordinary the ordinary really is. Presented using a combination of music, movie clips and images, the format will be meditative, with times for sharing responses to some of the themes and images."
