A great title for a workshop, but it is better when we are able to apply the workshop to our lives by knowing our call and learning to value our gifts. It is a great gift to confirm that Christ has called us to be apostles. We are given the power to bring Christ to those who do not know him and to respect the needs and gifts of others, too. The workshop was a presentation of the Sienna Institute, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
To date, 535 people have participated in a Called and Gifted weekend in the Diocese of Dodge City.
The workshop held April 28-30 at Mary Queen of Peace, Ulysses was well attended. There were approximately 40 participants in the English workshop and 70 participants at the presentations in Spanish, including members of area parishes of our dioceses and even two participants from the Salina Diocese. The presenters in English were Ed Hopfner from Oakland, Calif. and Mary Kaufmann from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The presenters in Spanish were Gloria Varela from Denver and Gustavo Amezaga from Galveston, Tex. The presenters gave excellent presentations that explained clearly and simply the different charisms. One could feel the unity and acceptance in this time of thinking of others, and at the same time, doing our own inventory of gifts. Participants were able to confirm what God had given them in their baptism -- gifts that they had not given importance before and had not used in their lives to live in an apostolic community, appreciating the gifts of others and giving respect to the gifts of everyone. Here are some of the remarks of participants:
• "It was extraordinary! This workshop helped me to know, deepen, and clarify my God given talents and to know how I should use them respectfully not to offend others. I grew to understand in this workshop how to begin to apply my gifts to my work in the community."
• "It helped the community to receive the happiness that comes from knowing well that everyone has different God-given gifts and because of that we will be able to work more effectively together. Always, we need something more and what we need of more, like the evangelization of the Apostles, is that each one us have a different call, different gifts, but a shared work. Now our responsibility as laity and members of one Church is to be great apostles and respond to the call to holiness that has been given to us."
• "For me, it helped me to know myself and that I am someone that has great value and I can give much more. We are not all equal in gifts. From now on, I will work with my gifts and charismas that I have, to help me, my family, and my community. Today I can feel the great love and the great gifts that God has given me to live and enjoy the company of all of my brothers and sisters. Thank you for this workshop."
Participants will be offered the opportunity to participate in interviews in the coming weeks. A reunion is being planned for June 4
for follow-up to personal interviews and a chance to discuss with those who share common gifts their experience of their "supernaturally charged" fruits.Por Padre Jim Dieker
Que buen título, pero es aun mejor cuando nos lo aplicamos este Fin de Semana, al llegar a conocer cuál es nuestro llamado y a valorar nuestros Dones.
Que regalo tan mas maravilloso el confirmar que Cristo nos ha llamado por nuestro nombre a ser Apóstoles, el cómo poder llevar a Cristo a aquel que no lo conoce y reconocer las necesidades y regalos de los demás. El taller fue una presentación de la Instituto de Siena, de Colorado Springs al la parroquia Maria Reina de la Paz, Ulysses, Kansas.
«PRESENTAR A CRISTO CON RESPETO, A MI MISMO»
Este Fin de Semana 28 a 30 de abril fue un gran éxito, tuvimos la presencia de alrededor de 40 participantes en el taller de inglés y cerca de 70 en el Taller de español, con miembros de diferentes Parroquias de nuestra Diócesis. Los presentadores de ingles fueron Ed Hopfner de Oakland, California and Mary Kaufmann de Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Los presentadores de español fueron Gloria Varela de Denver y Gustavo Amezaga de Galveston, Tejas. Los Presentadores hicieron su trabajo de una manera excelente, la explicación fue muy clara y sencilla y todo con mucho orden. Se pudo respirar un ambiente de unidad y aceptación en el que por un momento dejamos de pensar en los demás, para así autoevaluarnos; pudiendo confirmar, lo que Dios nos regaló en nuestro Bautismo, Dones, que tal vez no les habíamos dado la importancia, ni el uso que tienen en nuestras vidas, para que de ésta forma podamos vivir en comunidad, apreciando los regalos de cada uno y respetándonos todos. Estos son algunos de los Testimonios de los participantes:
• Fue Extraordinario!! Este taller me ayudó a conocer, profundizar y aclarar mis Talentos Divinos y que los debo de manejar con respeto para no ofender a los demás. Lo aprendido en este Taller lo empezaré a aplicar dentro de mis labores en la Comunidad.
• Ayudó a la Comunidad, nos trajo felicidad el conocernos mas y saber que todos tenemos Dones diferentes, pero que es así, como trabajaremos mejor. Siempre necesitamos de alguien más y alguien mas necesita de nosotros, es como los Apóstoles evangelizaban, cada uno tenía diferente llamado, diferentes Dones; pero la misma tarea. Y ahora es nuestra responsabilidad como laicos y miembros de una Iglesia el ser los grandes Apóstoles y responder al Llamado de Santidad que se nos ha asignado
• A mi me ayudó a conocerme a mi misma y saber que soy alguien que vale mucho y puedo dar mucho mas, que no todos somos iguales. De hoy en adelante trabajaré con los Dones y Carismas que tengo, para ayudarme a mi, a mi familia y a mi Comunidad. Ahora puedo sentir con que que Amor y cuántas cosas Dios me dió para vivir y disfrutar de la compañía de todos mis hermanos. Gracias por este Taller.
Los participantes tendrán una oportunidad para las entrevistas personales en las semanas que vienen. El día 4 de junio habremos una junta para la oportunidad de compartir las experiencias de sus carismas con los otros de los mismos dones, y la fruta extraordinaria de conciencia de sus carismas.
