Neighbors and friends, all students at St. Dominic School in Garden City, proudly present to Father Joe Bahr their lemonade stand proceeds. To help tornado victims in Greensburg, the children sold lemonade and cookies to drivers passing by the home of Jack and Christine Schmidt. After raising $118, the group gave the money to the church’s Greensburg relief fund.
After a consulting engineer viewed the damage to Sts. Peter and Paul church in North Ellinwood, it was determined that the building was structurally sound and would receive partial restoration. The building will be re-roofed, the steeple will be capped, and there will be minor interior restoration. More restoration could come as funding becomes available.
