Farewell program for Sacred Heart School

The Sacred Heart Grade School in Larned, founded in 1936, will be closing its doors after this school year. To commemorate the event, there will be an assembly at the Sacred Heart School Auditorium in Larned on Saturday, June 5, at 6:30 p.m. to celebrate the history and achievements of Sacred Heart School and to mark its closing. A picnic dinner will be served. All alumni, students, and faculty, past and present, and Sacred Heart parishioners, are invited to attend.

All Sacred Heart parishioners, alumni, and faculty are encouraged to contact and notify all former Sacred Heart students and faculty members of this upcoming event.

Heimans celebrate 50th annivesary

GARDEN CITY - Gene and Clarine Heiman, members of St. Dominic Parish, will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a reception for family and friends at the Plaza Hotel, May 28, at 7 p.m.

The celebration will be hosted by their four daughters and three sons, and their families: David and Karen Metzger, Scott City; Rick and Kathleen Albrecht, Wichita; Jeanne and Dean Kleysteuber, Patricia and Ross Miller, Bill and Janell Heiman, Jon and Becky Heiman, and Chris and Traci Heiman, all of Garden City.

Gene Heiman and Clarine Hoskinson were married at St. Mary Church, Garden City, Dec. 29, 1953. The couple has 19 grandchildren.

Herrman’s celebrate 50 years

Marvin and Florence Herrman, members of St. Michael’s Parish in La Crosse, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with Mass May 15. A special celebration followed.

The Herrmans were married at Holy Trinity Church in Timken on May 18, 1954, with Father A. B. Clupny officiating. The couple have one son, Michael, who lives in Topeka, and five grandchildren.
