Maurice F. Gleason, 81, of St. Nicholas Parish, Kinsley, died April 9, 2006. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a former chairman of the Diocesan Development Program. He is survived by his wife, Lucille (Hattrup); three sons, Mark, Gerald, and Kevin; a daughter, LeAnne Hampel; two brothers, James R. and Marvin; two sisters, Catherine Hattrup and Theresa Aistrup; and nine grandchildren. Father Nicanor Ferangco presided.

Edward J. "Eddie" Reimer, 71, of St. Dominic Parish, Garden City, died May 7, 2006. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by his wife, Grace N. (McCreery Pennington); two sons, Jim and Greg; a stepdaughter, Linda Glenn; a brother, Dean; a sister, Karen Bogner; and seven grandchildren. Father Joseph Bahr presided.

Ignatius C. "Eno" Amerin, Jr., 64, previously of St. Patrick Parish, Plains, died May 7, 2006. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era. Survivors include three daughters, Shelly Scott, Cristy Zuroff, and Mika Kraisinger; three brothers, Harold, Edward, and Albert; a sister, Gloria Robison; and 10 grandchildren. Father Angel Dy presided.

Kathleen Marie Casey, 76, of St. Patrick Parish, Great Bend, died May 7, 2006. She was a member of the Altar Society. Survivors include two sons, Kevin and Shawn; two daughters, Caron Zager and Connie Jones; two brothers, Francis "Red" Keenan and Tom Keenan; a sister, Bev Schaub; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Fathers Reginald A. Urban and Ultan Murphy presided.

Marie K. Myers, 92, of St. Patrick Parish, Great Bend, died May 8, 2006. She belonged to the Altar Society and Daughters of Isabella. Survivors include three sons, Charles, Tom, and Bill; two daughters, Donna Stout and Kathy Myers; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Father Reginald A. Urban presided.

Delfina "Della" Rodriguez Knight, 87, of St. Dominic Parish, Garden City, died May 6, 2006. Survivors include a daughter, Lydia Taylor; four sisters, Sue Rodriguez, Enedina Rodriguez, Felisa Guadian and Jessie Rodriguez; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Father Joseph Bahr presided.

Warren "Dutch" Pitts, 85, of St. Lawrence Parish, Jetmore, died May 9, 2006. He was a World War II veteran. Survivors include a son, Thomas; four daughters, Judith Hiss, Betty Nelson, Linda Oblander, and Bonnie Watson; four brothers, Willis, Vernon, Norm, and Jerry; a sister, Eunice Lampe; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Father Robert Schremmer and Deacon Dwaine Lampe presided.

Albertine M. Kreutzer, 95, of St. Joseph Parish, Liebenthal, died May 12, 2006. Survivors include two sons, Victor and Perry; a daughter, Margie L. Rohr; two sisters, Sally Carey and Josephine Stecklein; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren. Father Jack Cuddigan presided.

Donald F. Hirsh, 80, of St. Nicholas Parish, Kinsley, died May 14, 2006. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7349. Survivors include five sons, Anthony, Quentin, Norman, Monte, and Doug; four daughters, Marge Senich, Bonnie Cornelius, Pam Wetzel, and Jeannie Hirsh; three brothers, Vic, Clarence, and Paul; four sisters, Alfreda Licklider, Theresa Rome, Mildred Conrady, and Christine Wright; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and close friend, Ella Morrison. Father Nicanor Ferangco presided.

Hope Schmidt, 32, of St. John the Apostle Parish, Kiowa, died May 13, 2006. Survivors include her parents, Robert and Judy Shelite Loewenstein; her husband, Michael Schmidt; three children, Montana McCullough, Taylor McCullough and Chase Schmidt; two brothers, Richard "Richie" Loewenstein and Matthew Loewenstein; two sisters, Stacy Talbot and Christina Kaumans; and a grandmother, Annabell Shelite. Father John Strasser presided.

Margaret Jane "Janie" Stein, 90, of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Dodge City, and formerly of Ashland, died May 15, 2006. Survivors include four sons, Stephen F., Richard J., Cletus G. "Jerry," and John Paul; two daughters, Marianne S. Wancura and Janie Marie Stein Bates; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Father Ted A. Skalsky presided.

Edward Joe "Ed" Jecha, 80, of Holy Trinity Parish, Timken. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 2100. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Rosarie (Baxa); two sons, Thomas E. and Edward F.; five daughters, Cecilia J. May, Margaret M. Waterman, Mary E. Casselman, Rita J. Andress, and Jane M. Jacobs; a sister, Blanche A. Tomecek; and 13 grandchildren. Fathers Henry Baxa, Jack Cuddigan, Charles Mazouch and Ultan Murphy presided.

Lora Jean Meis, 72, of Sacred Heart Parish, Ness City, died May 21, 2006. She was the church organist for 27 years, and was a member of the Altar Society. Survivors include her husband, Melvin; four daughters, Paulette Pfannenstiel, Carol Deanne Mulvihil, Myrna Mohr, Melinda Warford; two brothers, Melvin Rohr and Thomas Lynn Rohr; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
