Official Appointments
The Most Reverend Ronald M. Gilmore, Bishop of Dodge City, announces the following appointments effective 15 June 2006 unless otherwise noted:
Father Ted Stoecklein, currently parochial vicar of the Catholic Community of Great Bend, is appointed pastor of St. John the Baptist, Spearville; priest supervisor and sacramental minister (in accord with Canon 517.2) of St. Anthony, Hanston, and St. Lawrence, Jetmore; and associate director of diocesan youth ministry. Deacon Dwaine Lampe continues to serve as parish life coordinator of St. Anthony and St. Lawrence parishes.
Father Wesley Schawe, currently parochial vicar at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City, is appointed parochial vicar of the Catholic Community of Great Bend, while continuing as diocesan coordinator of pro-life activities.
Father Trong Tran, currently parochial vicar at Mary, Queen of Peace, Ulysses, and St. Bernadette, Johnson, and assisting with sacramental ministry at St. Alphonsus, Satanta, is appointed parochial vicar of Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City; and diocesan chaplain of the Vietnamese community.
Father Anthony Suellentrop will be senior priest in residence, assisting Father Jim Dieker at Mary, Queen of Peace, Ulysses, St. Bernadette, Johnson, and assisting with sacramental ministry at St. Alphonsus, Satanta; and jail ministry within the diocese.
To provide for the pastoral care of St. Stanislaus, Ingalls, in accord with Canon 517, 2, the next three appointments are made:
Marlene Miller is appointed parish life coordinator. Her installation is scheduled for June 18.
Father Joseph Bahr ceases his office of pastor and is appointed priest supervisor. Father Bahr continues as pastor of St. Dominic, Garden City.
Msgr. Brian Moore is appointed sacramental minister, while remaining in residence at Dodge City. He continues his current ministries of parochial vicar of the Cathedral parish, director of priest continuing formation, director of seminarians, director of pastoral ministry formation, and diocesan liturgist.
Father Bernard Felix, currently appointed as parochial administrator of Sacred Heart, Larned, and St. Bernard, Belpre, is appointed pastor of Sacred Heart and St. Bernard parishes.
Father Louis Trung Dinh Hoang, at his request to be close to his family, will continue service in the Diocese of Honolulu for an additional three years with the agreement of Most Rev. Clarence R. Silva, Bishop of Honolulu.
Effective 17 July 2006:
Father John D. Cuddigan, S.J., parochial administrator of St. Michael, La Crosse, St. Joseph, Liebenthal, and Holy Trinity, Timken, will have completed his temporary assignment in the Diocese of Dodge City.
Father Rene Labrador, a priest from the Diocese of Boac in the Philippines, is appointed parochial administrator of St. Michael, La Crosse, St. Joseph, Liebenthal, and Holy Trinity, Timken.
