Obituaries
Christina G. Martinez, 82, of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Dodge City, died Oct. 18,
2007. She worked at Wardrobe and Coed Cleaners, Dodge City as a seamstress and silk presser.
Survivors include three sons, Felix, Ralph R., and Jody G.; a sister, Helen Hilburn; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and
three great-great grandchildren. Father Ted Skalsky

Cecilia Huschka,
90, of St. Joseph Parish, Ellinwood, died Oct. 23, 2007. She belonged to the
Altar Society. Survivors include a son, Paul; two daughters, Dolores Boyle and
Janet Hanson; and a grandson. Father Charles Mazouch presided.
James F. “Jabe” Gumpenberger, 77, of Fowler, died Oct. 20, 2007. For 32 years he
worked as a railroad laborer for the Rock
Island, Southern Pacific and Cottonbelt
Railroads, retiring in 1986. He is survived by his wife, Letha Hill; five
daughters, Gayla Todd, Jamie Preston, Tina Andrews,
Cathy Herron, and Amy Maggard; three brothers,
Richard, Robert, and John; a sister, Lorraine Erickson; 11 grandchildren; and
five great-grandchildren. Father Angel Dy presided.
Jayden Omar Castilleja, 19 months, of St. Mary Parish, Garden City, died Oct.
22, 2007. Survivors include his parents, Hector Reyes and Daisy Diaz Castilleja; a brother, Luis Hector Castilleja;
grandparents, Jose and Delma Diaz, and Hector Manuel
and Rosalinda Castilleja; great-grandparents, Jesus
and Maria De Leon, Reyes and Leonor Padilla, and Isidro Castilleja
Sr.; and several uncles, aunts and cousins. Father Trong
Tran presided.
Jose Luis Rincon Jr., 34, of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima, Great Bend,
died Oct. 21, 2007. He was a production worker for KBK Industries, Rush Center.
He is survived by his girlfriend Maria Martinez; parents Jose Luis and Maria
Rincon; two sons, Adrian and Christian; a daughter, Perla
Stephanie; a brother, Cesar; and four sisters, Rosa, Socorro, Angelica and Anna
Rincon. Father Wesley Schawe presided.
Leona “Toots” Lampe, 85, of St. John the
Baptist Parish, Spearville, died Oct. 22, 2007. She
worked as a lunchroom cook until retiring, and also worked at the Ford County
Lake. Survivors include
three daughters, Carol Jean Jennie Welsch, Linda
Dixon, and Joyce Tiemeyer; sister-in-law Josephine Scheier; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a step-great-grandson;
and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Father Ted Stoecklein
presided.
Richard Geier, 59, of St. Mary Parish, Garden City, died Oct. 20, 2007,
at St. Catherine
Hospital, Garden City. He worked for
Schreiber Motors and Osborn Heirs. He served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to
1971, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife, Ellen Gillespie;
his mother, Agatha Hoffman Geier; three sons, Ross, Eric, and Jamie; five
brothers, Jerry, Ed, Raymond, Paul, and Pat; five sisters, Judy Hunt, Joann Schlappe, Ruth Drees, Sara Saloga and Monica; and three grandchildren. Father Trong Tran presided.
Doris Corrine Pfannenstiel,
81, of Sacred Heart Parish, Ness
City, died Oct. 29, 2007.
She was the owner and operator of a clothing store, and member of the Sacred
Heart Altar Society. Survivors include a brother, Don Wiese; and many nephews
and nieces. Father Henry Hildebrand

Helen Mary Huslig,
90, of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose, Great Bend, died Oct. 27, 2007. She worked as
a legal secretary. She was a member of the Altar Society and Daughters of
Isabella, and served as a lector and Eucharistic minister. Survivors include
three sons, James, Richard, and Philip; three daughters, Carol, Jeanette, and
Laura; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Father Wesley Schaw and Father Charles Mazouch presided.
Diana Gracia
of St. John the Apostle Parish, St. John, infant twin baby girl of Jorge and
Rosa Alvarez Gracia died Oct. 30, 2007. Survivors
include her parents; two brothers, Victor Alvarez and Fabian Gracia; a sister, Jennifer Gracia;
and grandparents Felix and Mercedes Alvarez. Father Marvin Reif presided.
Chad E. Aistrup,
23, of St. Anthony Parish, Hanston, died Nov. 4,
2007, in Pratt. He graduated from Hanston High
School, and worked as a laborer. He was a member
of the Knights of Columbus, and the Boy Scouts. Survivors include his parents,
Emmett and Susan Taylor Aistrup; two sisters, Nicole
Lucas and Meredith Aistrup; a niece, Makenzie Lucas; grandparents, Theresa Aistrup,
Mr. and Mrs. Don Mounday, and Mr. and Mrs. Don
Taylor. Father Ted Stoecklein and Deacon Dwaine Lampe
presided.
