"Advent Day of Prayer:

God Chooses to be Among Us"

Sunday, Dec. 5, 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Instructors: Sisters Jolene Geier OP and Lorena Bolte OP

Cost: Free will donation; Please register for meals: brunch $4; supper $5.50.

The reason for the Incarnation of God in Jesus Christ is that God sees a beauty in humankind and wants to be with us. God came in the person of Jesus to be in friendship with the human race. The day includes morning and evening prayer, Eucharist, conference at 11:30 a.m. and Adoration hours with Rosary meditations on the Joyful Mysteries.

RCIA Retreat:

"Led by the Spirit into the Desert"

Register by Jan. 19 for the following event by calling (620) 792-1232 or emailing, brenda@heartland-spirituality.org. This retreat is for all parishes and individuals engaged in the RCIA program, for catechumens, candidates, sponsors, and teams. It is a time of reflection and prayer in preparation for and the enrichment of the Lenten Scrutinies.

Presenters include Sisters Lorena Bolte OP, and Jolene Geier OP (English); Matilde Monterrose MCMI and Maria Elena Martinez MCMI (Spanish)

The retreat will be presented in English and Spanish Saturday, Jan. 29 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cathedral; 3231 N 14th, Dodge City.

The retreat will be in English only Saturday, Feb. 5 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Heartland Center for Spirituality, 3600 Broadway, Great Bend.

Rates: $50 per parish plus $15 per person or $30 per individual (lunch included). Billing will be sent to parishes after the event.

Victorian Christmas Ball

Enjoy an evening of 1870’s fun and decorum, period music and dancing to the Grand March, Virginia Reel, Jenny Linde Polka, Hat Dance and more, from 7-9 p.m., Friday, Dec. 10, at the Eisenhower Hall in historic Fort Dodge

A free-will offering will be accepted for the Kansas Soldiers’ Home Residents’ Benefit Fund.

Music will be provided by "The Ford County Five Band," and Donna C’s Café in Montezuma will provide refreshments.

Fort Dodge is located four miles east of Dodge City, on Highway 54/400. Eisenhower Hall is two blocks south of the entrance to Fort Dodge on Sheridan St.
