Catherine I. "Katie" Goetz, 94, of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Dodge City, died Oct. 24, 2006. She was a member of the Altar Society. Survivors include her son, Vern Goetz; three daughters, Louise Feldt, Twila Logsdon, and Iona Selensky; two sisters, Betty Kaiser and Bertha Owens; 21 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Clara Ann Irsik, 91, of St. Stanislaus Parish, Ingalls, died Oct. 25, 2006. She was a member of the Altar Society. Survivors include two daughters, Janet Kliesen and Debbie Calhoun; a brother, Joe Dasenbrock; a sister, Magdalene McGroarty; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Rodney P. Lies, 67, of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Dodge City, died Oct. 25, 2006. He was a farmer. He is survived by his wife, Karol (Hoskinson); two sons, Brian and Brent; a daughter, Laurie Minor; two sisters, Naomi Foreman and Arlene Brittain; and 10 grandchildren. Father Trong Tran presided.

Bernard J. Bahr, 91, of St. Ann’s Parish, Olmitz, died Oct. 26, 2006. He was a farmer and stockman. He was a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus Council No. 2100 for 70 years serving as past Grand Knight, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Council No. 2100. He is survived by his wife, Alberta (Stoss); two daughters, Karen Nelson and Bonnie Glaser; two sisters, Sister Philomena Bahr and Alice Tholen; and four grandchildren. Fathers Ultan Murphy and Joseph Bahr presided.

Margaret "Peggy" Breiten-bach, 66, of Belpre, died Oct. 18, 2006. She was a retired school teacher. Survivors include a sister. Father Bernard Felix presided.

Rosemary Larrabee, 97, of St. Anthony Parish, Liberal, died Oct. 21, 2006. She was a member of the Altar Society and Guild. Survivors include two sons, Bill and Joe; a daughter, Linda Swafford; two sisters, Helen Kinney Lutes and Alice Kinney Rowlands; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Bernard "Ben" A. Raben-seifner, 95, of St. Ann Parish, Omitz, died Oct. 26, 2006. He was a farmer and stockman. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2100. Survivors include a son, Bernard; four daughters, Darlene Hoff-acker, Diane Zink, Elaine Seeman, and Patty Rabenseif-ner; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. Mary L. Batchman, 86, of St. Joseph Parish, Larned, died Oct. 27, 2006. She was a member of the Altar Society. Survivors include two sons, William (Bill) J. and Edward E.; two brothers, Bill and Hiram Baxter; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Father Charles Mazouch presided.

Albertine B. Werth, 85, of St. Michael’s Parish, LaCrosse, died Oct. 27, 2006. She belonged to the St. Michael’s Social Commission. Survivors include a son, Kenneth James; a daughter, Ruthetta A. "Ruth" Plowman; two brothers, William P. "Bill" Randa and Alvin F. Randa; a sister, Esther Pfannenstiel; two grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. Furlyn "Tuff" Hertel, 88, of Sacred Heart Parish, Larned, died Oct. 28, 2006. He was a farmer and stockman. Survivors include three sons, George, Joseph and Michael; six daughters, Sister Eloise, Marcia Smith, Anita Farrell, Marilyn Small, Dana Cox and Sharla Canada; a sister, Arlene Halling; 19 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Marcelina N. Sanchez, 89, of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Dodge City, died Oct. 29, 2006. She belonged to the Altar Society and the Daughters of Isabella. She is survived by her husband, Frank Sanchez; three sons, David, Jerry and Richard; a daughter, Lena Lefort; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. James A. Vogel, 75, of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Dodge City, died Oct. 31, 2006. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2955, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Sue (Donahue); two sons, Scott and Todd; a daughter, Diana Vogel; two brothers, Leonard and Ray; two sisters, Sister Irene and Pauline Herrman; and two grandsons. Father Ted A. Skalsky presided.

Mary Jane Galaviz, 48, of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Dodge City, died Nov. 1, 2006. She is survived by her husband, Fernando Galaviz; a son, Jose; a daughter, Maria Osorio; and two grandchildren. Father Trong Tran presided.

Angelita Garcia, 59, of Mary Queen of Peace Parish, Ulysses, died Nov. 2, 2006. She worked as a C.N.A. at Western Prairie Care Home, Ulysses. Survivors include three sons, Raul Ramos, David Ramos and Benjamin Flores; four daughters, Rosa-linda Anguiano, Toni Mendoza, Lucy Flores and Mary Ramos; three brothers, Andy, Jessie and Joe Garcia; six sisters, Mary Jermillo, Rosa Smith, Dora Gonzalez, Francis Myers, Pauline Herada and Yolanda Rios; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Ronald Gregory Maestas, 54, a Holcomb resident who belonged to St. Mary Parish, Garden City, died Nov. 2, 2006. He had been a supervisor for Farmland and Iowa Beef Packing Plant. Survivors include his mother, Eva Montoya Maestas; two sons, Brad and Mickey; a daughter, Nicole Ferguson; two sisters, Debbie and Nancy Mader; and seven grandchildren. Father Carlos Pena presided.

Brenda Estela Ruvalcaba, 4, of St. Mary Parish, Garden City, died Nov. 8, 2006, in Liberal. She was born June 8, 2002, in Garden City, the daughter of Edgar and Jennifer Morales Ruvalcaba. Survivors include her parents; two brothers, Abel and Avein Ortiz; two sisters, Airean Ortiz and Denise Holguin; and her grandfather, Remedios Ruvalcaba. Father Carlos Garcia-Pena presided.

Cecelia R. Blackwell, 85, of Sacred Heart Parish, Larned, died Nov. 9, 2006. She was the former gift shop clerk for the Santa Fe Trail Center, Larned. She was past president of Sacred Heart Altar Society. Survivors include three sons; two daughters; five brothers; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Father Bernard Felix presided.
