Knights of Columbus St. Augustine Council No. 2340 in Liebenthal held their annual Columbus Day breakfast and awards ceremony on Oct. 12. Four members received their 50 year awards—Anton Suppes, Julius J. Suppes, Reinhold Suppes, and Edwin A. Engel. The Suppes, who are brothers, are all from the Loretto area. They joined the Knights of Columbus on Oct. 11, 1953, 50 years and one day from the day of the awards presentation.
The "Family of the Year" was the Bill and Beverly Stark family, with their children Zachary, Kaleb, Nathan, and Joshua. They were also "District Family of the Year." "Knight of the Year" was Dermot Randa, who was also "District Knight of the Year."
