Lawrence "Larry" Hor-nung, 66, of St. John the Baptist Parish, Spearville, died Sept. 29, 2006. He was a Third Degree member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 1539. Julius "Duke" George Ditgen, 93, of St. Boniface Parish, Sharon, died Oct. 1, 2006. He enlisted in the Army during WWII and served a tour of duty in Europe. Survivors include a son, Larry; a brother, Ralph; a sister, Lucille Stevenson; and two grandsons.

Beth L. Millsap, 90, of St. Mary’s Parish, Garden City, died Oct. 9, 2006. She was a registered nurse at St. Catherine Hospital until 1960, then was a school nurse for Garden City public schools, returning in 1978 to St. Catherine Hospital, working for a total of 39 years. Chester M. "Chet" Fouquet, 88, of St. Joseph Parish, Scott City, died Oct. 15, 2006. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1941-46 as a radio instructor and naval pilot. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, and had served as mayor of Scott City. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy E. Dean; three sons, Mark, Dean, and Joe; two daughters, Ronna Cunningham and Anne Crane; 18 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild. Loretta M. Howell, 84, of St. Joan of Arc Parish, Elkhart, died Oct. 16, 2006. She drove a school bus for 30 years and ran the Elkhart Motel. Survivors include two sons, Charles and Donald ; three daughters, Nancy Nash, Donna Schaffer, and Anita Howell; a brother, Charles Sloan; a sister, Margaret Forbes; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Delfino Dale Salazar, 67, a Deerfield resident who attended St. Anthony Parish, Lakin, died Oct. 14, 2006. He worked at Tyson Fresh Meats, Holcomb. Survivors include two sons, Steve and Robert; two daughters, Tina Medrano and Juanita Salazar; caretaker and goddaughter, Audrey Montoya; two brothers; six sisters; six god-children; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The memorial funeral Mass was held in Colorado.
