Former Dodge City bishops Marion F. Forst, Eugene J. Gerber, and Stanley J. Schlarman, and present bishop, Ronald M. Gilmore, greeted each other at the anniversary celebration for Bishop of Salina, George K. Fitzsimons.

Three of the former bishops of the Diocese of Dodge City posed for a photograph with current Dodge City bishop, Ronald M. Gilmore, right, while in Salina for Bishop George K. Fitzsimons’ 20-year anniversary celebration as bishop of the Salina diocese. The celebration began with a Mass and was followed by a reception. Bishop Fitzsimons was ordained a priest March 18, 1961, and in 1975 was appointed auxiliary bishop of Kansas City -- St. Joseph, and titular bishop of Perdusa in Northern Spain. He was installed as bishop of the Salina diocese in 1984.
