St. Bernard’s Turkey Supper, Oct. 26
St. Bernard’s Altar Society, Belpre, will sponsor its 43
rd Annual Turkey Supper on Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 5-8 p.m.Meal tickets will be sold that evening: $7 for adults; $3 for children ages 6-12; free for children 5 and under.
Entertainment will include a cake walk, fish pond, country store, and raffle drawing.
Raffle prizes include: a quilt, handmade by Cheryl Skalsky; a curio cabinet made by Kenny Wood; a digital camera; a $100 bill; a $75 meat bundle; a $30 gift certificate to Playa Azul Mexican Restaurant (in Pratt and Great Bend); and a $25 gift certificate to Wal-Mart.
Raffle tickets may be purchased from any child member of St. Bernard’s Parish prior to the supper, or they may be purchased that evening. Prices for the raffle tickets are $1 each, or $5 for a book of six.
Liturgical Music Workshop, Oct. 29-30
Hosted by Father James Marchionda, OP, the weekend workshops are being held in conjunction with the Celebration of Mass for the closing of the Year of the Eucharist.
The workshops will take place Saturday, Oct. 29, and Sunday, Oct. 30, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Registration for the Oct. 29 workshop is at 9:30 a.m. This workshop is for all liturgists. There will be a Liturgical Season Choral workshop from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter music will be covered. This will be a day of prayer and reflection on the joy and responsibility of being a parish liturgist.
The Sunday workshop is for all interested youth and liturgists. Registration is at 1:30 p.m., the workshop will be offered from 2-4 p.m. At 4 p.m., participants will celebrate the Mass closing the Year of the Eucharist, featuring New Collections in 2-Part and Discant Settings.Workshop participants are encouraged to participate in the Mass. Seasonal music, New Collections Octoavos and CD’s will be available for sale.
