Recording artist to perform in Garden City

Internationally known Catholic Gospel singer Katrina Rae will appear at St. Dominic Church in Garden City at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 28 to share a ministry of faith and Christian music. Admission is free.

At one time a professional country singer, Rae turned to Gospel music in 1985. She is a Catholic evangelist, sharing her music and ministry in churches throughout the world, giving more than 600 concerts.

Rae has appeared numerous times on Christian TV and her songs can be heard on many radio stations throughout the world. Thirteen times she has received the United Catholic Music and Video Association’s Unity Award. Her songs are enhanced with a slide presentation and lighting special effects.

She has produced five Christian music albums, "Growing," "In-Concert," "Journey," "Messenger," and "Touch."

Rae has been married for over 30 years and raised five children. In 1998 her husband joined the ministry full time as her engineer and manager. Katrina served as a Youth Minister for 10 years and as Director of Parish Life/Evangelism for eight years in her parish, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Community in Hendersonville, Tenn. For the past 12 years, she has been and continues to be the director and coordinator for the parish’s Small Faith Communities comprised of more than 130 parishioners. She is a founding member of CAM (Catholic Association of Music) and a charter member of UCMVA (United Catholic Music and Video Association).

Rae is also a member of the CCMA (Christian Country Music Assc) ; the ACMA (American Christian Music Assc) ;A (Gospel Music Association) and ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers).

St. Dominic Church is presenting Rae in conjunction with its 40th anniversary, which will be celebrated approximately two weeks after the concert, on Oct. 10, with a Mass and dedication of its new parish center.

The concert is open to the public and is for all ages. A freewill offering will be accepted.
