Sacred Heart DC students read their way to First Place

Nancy Tarwater, left, librarian at Sacred Heart Cathedral School, accepted the Summer Reading Traveling Trophy on Sept. 15 from LaShaina Lee-Flax, children’s coordinator at the Dodge City Public Library. Students from 10 schools in Dodge City participated in the program. Forty three students from Sacred Heart read 1,830 books, 580 more than the nearest competing school. Sacred Heart Cathedral School has received the Summer Reading Traveling Trophy in seven of the last 10 years.
