Vocation Views are short thoughts to keep the discernment message always fresh in the minds of your parish.  Please insert the following vocation views into your weekly bulletins.

Please run Feb 25
God calls Abraham to be willing to sacrifice all that is dear to him, even his own son, Isaac. In order to respond to a priestly or religious vocation, the same call to sacrifice is heard. Are you willing?  (Gen. 22:1-2) If you think God is calling you to priesthood or to consecrated life, visit our website at www.dcdiocese.org/vocations.

Please run March 4
Jesus cleaned out the temple of money changers. He was angry; He was zealous; He was authoritative. He was doing what He had to do, even though it involved risk, danger, insult and wonder. Such is a vocation. (John 2:13-25) If you think God is calling you to be a priest, contact Fr. Wesley Schawe at 620-227-1533 or This email address is being protected from spambots. When we are 'born again' in baptism, we really become a new creation, fired with a new love, and aimed in a new direction - heaven. Let Jesus talk with you. Let Jesus challenge you. (John 3:14-21) Pray for vocations to the Priesthood and Religious life from our families and parish.

Please run March 18
Unless a seed first dries out and dies, it cannot be planted in the earth to grow. Unless we first dry out and die to our selfish ways, we can never expect to be people who will 'lay down their lives for their friends.'  Take time to pray, to ask God what He wants of you. (John 12:20-33) If you think God is calling you to priesthood or to consecrated life, visit our website at www.dcdiocese.org/vocations
