La Vocacíón al Matrimonio

The vocation to marriage is a beautiful expression of God's free, total, faithful, and fruitful love. Your desire to receive the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony is a great blessing for you and for the Church! La vocación al matrimonio es una bella expresión del amor libre, total, fiel y fructífero de Dios. ¡Tu deseo de recibir el Sacramento del Santo Matrimonio es una gran bendición para ti y para la Iglesia!

The Diocesan norm requires the couple to contact the priest or deacon at least four months prior to the wedding. We encourage you to contact your parish as soon as possible to discuss the norms for setting dates, and other preparation events that your pastor may invite you to attend. La norma diocesana requiere que la pareja se ponga en contacto con el sacerdote o el diácono al menos cuatro meses antes de la boda. Le recomendamos que se comunique con su parroquia lo antes posible para hablar sobre las normas para establecer fechas y otros eventos de preparación a los que su pastor puede invitarlo a asistir.

The required steps of preparation for marriage in the Catholic Church are offered in hopes that the sacredness and beauty of the Sacrament of Marriage will be ever more apparent, that hearts will be touched by God’s love, and that the grace of God will be manifest as these guidelines are followed (Diocese of Dodge City Guidelines). Los pasos necesarios para prepararse para el matrimonio en la Iglesia Católica se ofrecen con la esperanza de que la santidad y la belleza del Sacramento del Matrimonio sean cada vez más evidentes, que los corazones sean tocados por el amor de Dios y que la gracia de Dios se manifieste conforme se siguen estas pautas (Pautas de la Diócesis de Dodge City).

 

  • Instrument- Completion the Prepare Enrich couple assessment and discussion of the results with the priest or pastoral minister. 
  • Instrumento- Finalización de la evaluación Prepare Enrich y discutir los resultados con el sacerdote o el ministro pastoral.

  • Event- Attendance at an Engaged-Encounter retreat weekend or couple-to-couple group session (see www.dcdiocese.org/engaged-encounter for Engaged Encounter dates for the Dodge City Diocese) 
  • Evento- Asistencia a un fin de semana del retiro de Engaged-Encounter o una sesión de grupo de parejas (consulte www.dcdiocese.org/engaged-encounter para las fechas del Engaged-Encounter para la Diócesis de Dodge City)

  • Sessions- Some parishes might ask couples to attend an Introductory Session to Natural Family Planning (NFP) and/or Theology of the Body as part of their preparation. 
  • Sesiones- Algunas parroquias pueden pedirles a las parejas que asistan a una Sesión introductoria a la planificación natural de la familia (PFN) y/o Teología del cuerpo como parte de su preparación.

  • Other sessions with Priest or Pastoral Minister may also be required in helping the couple to develop an understanding and appreciation of the Sacrament of Marriage.

    If the engaged couple is coming from another Diocese, we ask that they participate in the approved marriage preparation program of their Diocese, with the inclusion of the Natural Family Planning Session. Si la pareja comprometida viene de otra Diócesis, les pedimos que participen en el programa aprobado de preparación matrimonial de su Diócesis, con la inclusión de la Sesión de planificación familiar natural.

Matrimony Anniversary Mass

Misa de Aniversario del Matrimonio

 

Each year the Diocese of Dodge City hosts a Matrimony Anniversary Mass for couples celebrating milestone anniversaries. This celebration includes a Mass with Bishop John and is always held the third Sunday in October.
