I will be out of the office Oct. 7-10 and 14-17. So, please be sure to send in any prenuptial documents several weeks before any weddings being celebrated Oct. 12 and 19.
Sacramental Register workshop – If you have any new folk working in the parish office whom you have given the task of recording sacramental records or creating sacramental certificates, let me know and we can set up a training session with them.
RCIA and Annulments – A reminder as sessions begin for RCIA to be sure to ask about any former marriages of the inquirer as well as their current spouse. It may seem inhospitable to ask such questions so early on, but it is more inhospitable when a previous marriage of the candidate and/or their current spouse a week before Easter and they are then told they cannot receive the initiation sacraments. Easter isn’t until April 12, 2020, so it is very possible for the Tribunal to get cases completed (barring any complications) well before Easter.
Priest Personnel Council Election Result – Father Ted Stoecklein was elected as the “at large” member to the Priest Personnel Council. The other members are the three deans (Fr. Warren Stecklein – Garden City Deanery, Fr. Jim Dieker – Dodge City Deanery, and Fr. Don Bedore – Great Bend Deanery) and the vicar general (Fr. Bob Schremmer).
