More than 130 high school students from across the diocese attended this year’s high school youth rally, March 21-22 at Dodge City Community College.
The weekend was filled with music, laughter, fun activities and time with friends, family and Christ.
Musician and speaker Chris Padgett was the keynote presenter for the weekend.
In Easter of 1999, Padgett entered the Catholic Church, an event he termed “one of the most amazing adventures of my life.” Padget had to “modify” many stereotypes and preconceived notions to make such a transition, but “the longer I searched, the more convinced I became.”
“Chris is a brilliant songwriter, musician, speaker, and worship leader,” said Steven Polley, Director of Youth Ministry.
Along with the message from Padgett, youth enjoyed three breakout sessions in which they were able to engage with other young people about some of the trials they must face in life.
The weekend concluded with a youth Mass celebrated by Father Robert Schremmer, pastor of St. Andrew Parish, Wright.
