Everyone who has attended a Protecting God's Children awareness session received the Policy and Code that was current at that time.  In addition, each person signed a receipt that stated, "I understand that I am personally responsible for reading and abiding by these policies and the standards of behavior contained therein, including any revisions posted on the diocesan website." Therefore, everyone who has been trained should download and print the revised Policy and Code so that you are aware of the current norms.  A link to the revised document and a link to specific sections of the document are provided above.

Beginning 1 July 2012 all adults who have regular contact with minors must be compliant PRIOR to beginning the volunteer ministry or activity.  Compliance means an adult must already have attended a Protecting God's Children awareness session and they already must have a completed background check.

This means if the day comes to begin some volunteer activity that involves regular contact with minors, and the adult has not yet attended a PGC awareness session and/or does not have a completed background check, then this adult many not take part in the volunteer activity until he/she becomes compliant.
